The man who shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, setting off a nationwide outpouring of anger, told police that Martin knocked him down with a single punch and slammed his head into the sidewalk several times — an account that police said witnesses have corroborated, according to The Orlando Sentinel.

Important to note.

Umm, I’m going to call bullshit on all of this. = this completely contradicts the evidence that we already have, namely that Trayvon started running away from Zimmerman, which according to his own damn 911 call, was the whole reason Zimmerman got out of the car to pursue him in the first place. It is completely illogical for Trayvon, an approximately 150 lb teenage boy, to have then turned around and pursued Zimmerman, a 255 lb grown ass adult who was chasing him like a crazy person, back to his car. Also, I don’t believe for a second that the 150 Trayvon was able to punch Zimmerman to the ground in one go. And if someone beats your head into the sidewalk several times, you don’t come out of it otherwise fine. As the article said, Zimmerman was not badly injured. Maybe I’m just being assumptive since I’ve never had my head slammed against the sidewalk, but I imagine you’d come away from that with more than a few lacerations. Also, Trayvon’s suspensions are completely irrelevant to the case, seeing as they do not in any way demonstrate that he was an aggressive or violent person. Finally, one witness’ testimony should not be all it takes to counteract the several other witnesses who claimed otherwise.
